Jessie Dickerson began his college career at Cape Fear Community College where he studied technical mathematics, physics, drafting and design techniques utilizing multiple versions of AutoCAD. The Associate of Applied Science degree he received laid the foundation for the civil engineering career he would later pursue.
After graduating from Cape Fear Community College, Mr. Dickerson joined Andrew & Kuske Consulting Engineers, a structural and civil engineering firm in Wilmington, North Carolina, as a drafting technician. His job duties involved drafting and detailing the structural aspects of multiple commercial and residential projects, reviewing shop drawings, and making site observation visits.
While Mr. Dickerson worked as a full time employee with Andrew & Kuske Consulting Engineers he continued to study full-time at UNCW. After a couple of years of studying the general education requirements for a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree, Mr. Dickerson transferred to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During his years of study at UNCC, Mr. Dickerson began working part-time for Andrew Consulting Engineers, P.C. as a drafting technician and engineering assistant for Neal Andrew and Rod Andrew. His responsibilities involved completing calculations and drawings regarding the structural aspects of multiple projects.
In August 2005, he graduated “Cum Laude” and received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. While he attended UNCC, Mr. Dickerson was initiated as a member of the University of North Carolina Charlotte Chapter of Chi Epsilon, the National Civil Engineering Honor Society and he was elected and inducted to membership in Gamma Rho of the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society for Adult Learners in Continuing Higher Education.
In August 2005, Mr. Dickerson joined Andrew Consulting Engineers as an Engineer Intern. Jessie works with both project managers on ongoing projects. His current projects include : General Electric Engineering office building, North Carolina State Ports WiFi Antenna Towers, Peachtree Office Suites, Lee’s Cut Marina Bulkhead Replacement and KILNDIRECT Stainless Steel Wood Kiln.
He passed the fundamental of Engineering Exam in October 2005. In January 2006, Mr. Dickerson was elected as an Associate Member into American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
